You can now launch the application. The first time you open ODM Player you may be prompted that the app may be unsafe because the developer cannot be verified. Please click here for how to bypass this notification. This is a false alarm. In some instances you can hit cancel and relaunch the application which will allow you to bypass the error by clicking Open.

Login to your SmartHub account and navigate to the devices tab to add a device.

Give the device a name, choose the store and enter your device code seen on the screen.

Set the device to Digital Signage and select your TV Menu from the list below. Save the device.

After a few moments, your screen should begin to display the selected menu. You can change this at any time within the device settings.

Troubleshooting Issues

Problem #1

“MyAppName.dmg is from an unidentified developer. Are you sure you want to open it?”

Solution #1

If you try to open an app that isn’t registered with Apple by an identified developer, you get a warning dialog. This doesn’t necessarily mean that something’s wrong with the app. For example, some apps were written before developer ID registration began. However, the app has not been reviewed, and macOS can’t check whether the app has been modified or broken since it was released. Learn more at: Open a Mac app from an unidentified developer

Problem #2

Unable to access remote server to authenticate or menus are not loading properly.

Solution #2

This is likely due to some firewall rule or exception that is blocking access to the API endpoints used for communication and authentication with our server. You will need to be sure that the following are open on port 80/443:

  • *.amazonaws.com

  • *.eyeconic.io

  • *.enlighten.dev

  • *.pusherapp.com, *.pusher.com

  • *.smarthub.app

  • *.googleapis.com, *.googledrive.com, *.googleusercontent.com, *.gstatic.com

  • *.sentry.io

Here is a full list of our network requirements if the above do not resolve the issue.

Special Considerations

We are currently going through the approval process with Apple to obtain application signing which will alleviate any developer verification errors. This will also allow us to enable automatic application update deployments.
